Practice & Process
What to do after a fall — and how we win your premises case.
The minutes after a fall decide a lot — before the spill is mopped and the hazard disappears. Here's exactly what to do, and how Chris Sanchez proves a store, grocer, or apartment complex was negligent under Texas premises liability law.
Right after the fall
Your first moves matter most
- 1
Report the fall to a manager and make them write an incident report. Get a copy, or at least the report number and the manager's name.
- 2
Photograph the exact hazard now — the spill, the broken stair, the missing 'wet floor' sign, the bad lighting — before anyone cleans it up. Get witness names.
- 3
See a doctor the same day. Adrenaline hides fractures and concussions, and a gap in treatment is the first thing the store's insurer attacks.
- 4
Do NOT give a recorded statement to the store's insurance, and call us before you sign anything. The consultation is free and we'll tell you honestly whether you have a case.
How we handle your case
From the fall to the settlement
We take over the pressure
From the moment you hire us, we handle every call and letter from the store and its insurers — so you can focus on healing instead of fighting adjusters.
We get you the right care
We connect you with trusted Rio Grande Valley doctors who can treat your fractures, disc injuries, or concussion now — often with no upfront cost — and we keep your medical record airtight.
We prove the owner had notice
We send a preservation letter to lock down surveillance video before it's erased, subpoena cleaning and inspection logs, pull prior complaints, and document how long the hazard sat there — proving the owner knew or should have known.
We demand full value
We calculate the true cost of your medical bills, lost wages, and pain — then negotiate hard and beat back the 'open and obvious' defense. If the insurer won't pay it, Chris is ready for court.
